Having opened in February this year, the impressive store, which is dog friendly, has received a warm welcome from Coleraine locals and visitors alike.

Store Manager, Stephen McKenna said: “We have been absolutely delighted by the support we have been shown by the people of Coleraine since we opened. Our sales have been up every single week which is fantastic.

“Regatta is a popular brand that appeals to many people who enjoy a love of the great outdoors, as well as those who appreciate practical but stylish daywear at an affordable price.

“We cover everything from outdoor wear to sportswear. If you want camping equipment we have it, we have different styles of footwear, accessories whether it be rucksacks, compass or a water bottle we stock it all.

“We have three different brands in store - obviously Regatta, Craghoppers and Dare 2b and we cater to every customer from young to old and our prices are brilliant and we are always on promotion which is great for the customer because there is always some sort of deal on.”

Having been opened in Coleraine for just over two months, Stephen has noticed how busy the town is and he was full of praise for Coleraine BID (Business Improvement District) for the different events organised.

“I have noticed how much busier Coleraine is than Ballymena where I worked for the last 10 years. The minute I started here it was very apparent, the footfall is so much better and the events BID put on really helps to boost footfall to all the different shops in the town.

“It’s a much nicer town which helps bring people here from outside of the area and it’s also so close to the coast as well.”

Regatta is just one of 19 new businesses which opened in Coleraine town centre area in the past 12 to 18 months and Stephen believes the town is bucking the trend experienced in other areas.

“Every new shop that opens brings new customers and more footfall to the town. The town is looking great at the minute and there are more new businesses set to open over the coming months. Coleraine is continuing to improve whilst many towns are going backwards instead of forwards.

“Obviously it’s hard times at the moment but for what Coleraine is, it’s doing really well at the moment, it’s improving and when you walk through the streets there are a lot of customers about.”

Stephen and his team have some great deals in store and he recommends a visit to the Church Street shop (the former Topshop store) when in town.

“We will have a 3 for 2 promotion on selected lines in our new summer wear and you’ll get your cheapest item free. However, we always have some promotion whether it is just a reduction or a half price sale, so why not call in and see what’s on offer.

“The staff are always on hand to help and advise you should you require assistance with anything and we are dog friendly so we would love to see you come along with your pets.

“We aren’t pushy and won’t try to sell you something high priced just for the sake of it, we want customers to have a great shopping experience with us and our aim is to ensure you get the right item for your needs.”
